What is My Purpose Today: Weathering the Storm

"The storm may test us, but it cannot break us." - Abi

Friday January 17, 2025, a powerful winter blizzard swept across Manitoba, blanketing the province in snow and shaking us with its fierce winds.

It’s a stark reminder of nature’s raw power and how life can sometimes feel overwhelming, like being caught in a storm.

Today, let’s reflect on resilience—our ability to endure, adapt, and emerge stronger.

Resilience isn’t about ignoring the storm; it’s about standing firm in the face of it and finding ways to move forward.
Think about how trees withstand a storm. The tallest, strongest trees don’t resist the wind—they bend and sway with it, allowing the storm to pass. Afterward, they stand tall again, rooted deeply in the earth.
Similarly, every challenge we face—be it a literal blizzard or a metaphorical one—strengthens our roots. Friday’s storm may have disrupted plans, but it also reminded us of our community’s strength and the importance of preparing and supporting each other during tough times.

Ask yourself: How can I demonstrate resilience today?

Maybe it’s checking in on a neighbor, clearing a path through the snow, or simply finding joy in a warm cup of tea and the coziness of home. Resilience is found in small, intentional acts that help us move through challenges.

The blizzard may have tested us, but it also showed us our capacity for resilience. As we dig out from the snow, let’s also take a moment to reflect on the inner strength that carries us through life’s storms.
