It’s Saturday, the late March light is finally shifting. It’s brighter, even if the air still carries a chill and the ground is a mix of stubborn ice and brown mud. There is a temptation, especially on Saturdays, to fill the void. We try to compress an entire week’s worth of living into two short days. We schedule, we plan, we execute errands.
We mistake frantic activity for authentic rest.
True, restorative rest requires us to protect our peace actively. It is a mindset shift from doing to being. It might feel uncomfortable at first—the silence, the lack of a checklist. But that stillness is where creativity replenishes itself. It is where we authentically recalibrate.Today, I encourage you to unplug. Turn off the notifications. Reject the productivity mindset for just a few hours. Lean into the quiet. Give your mind and body the space they need to show up as your best self next week.
