Astronaut Rick Mastracchio’s selfie is literally out of this world
Within everyone’s personal selfie oeuvre you’re likely to find the
usual suspects: facing a mirror, thumbs-up, photo-bombing a celebrity,
hugging a puppy, eating an ice cream…
Yawn. Snore. Zzzz.
For a truly original self-portrait – and one that is, quite
literally, out of this world – look no further than this snap by
American Nasa astronaut Rick Mastracchio.
The US spaceman was complaining on Twitter about his bulky suit
making taking a selfie tricky during a space-walk on a repair mission at
the International Space Station.
‘The spacesuit makes it very difficult to get a good selfie. I tried
several today,’ Mastracchio tweeted, a few hours after he and crewmate
Steve Swanson had replaced a computer box.
Spacesuit and zero gravity considered, we think he did a pretty good job.
