LEARNING TO BE OUR OWN BEST FRIEND

We have a habit of being our own biggest critics. We tell ourselves things that we would never dream of saying to a person we care about. We focus on our flaws and we ignore our progress. But what happens when we decide to change that dialogue. What happens when we choose to speak with kindness instead of judgment.

We are all works in progress. We are all trying to navigate a world that asks so much of us. If we do not learn to be a friend to ourselves we will always feel like we are fighting an uphill battle. It is about building a relationship with our own minds that is based on support and patience.

Taking a moment to breathe and reflect while walking along the river in Winnipeg helps us see the bigger picture. We give so much of our energy to the people around us but we must remember to save some for ourselves. We deserve the same love we give away so freely.
